Violence-hit Manipur saw fresh outrage this week as a video of two Kuki-Zo tribal women being paraded naked and then gang-raped went viral. The incident - vehemently condemned by the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum- purportedly took place in Kangpokpi district after B Phainom village was burnt down. The ITLF said the mob had beaten two men to death before turning against the two women.  According to reports quoting an ITLF statement, the incident took place on May 4.

Amid a social media uproar over a pilot and her husband being beaten up for allegedly abusing a 10-year-old girl working as domestic help, IndiGo, Wednesday said the airline has derostered the employee from duties and the matter is being investigated. Mumbai: Building a more inclusive workplace to curtail attrition, improvements in customer service, and a stronger digital infrastructure are some of the priorities at India’s largest private sector lender HDFC Bank, its chief executive Sashidhar Jagdishan said on Wednesday. In a message to shareholders in the bank’s annual report, Jagdishan said that since talent, potential and capabilities can best be harnessed through an enabling culture, the bank has adopted the managerial behaviour architecture of nurture, care and collaborate. India Inc have increased their spending on well-being in 2023 compared to 2019 while two in three firms believe unhealthy employees have a direct impact on business financials, according to Aon India Primary Care Benefits Report 2023 that mapped 250 companies. The study suggests that 82% companies agree mental health has a potential impact on business outcomes. “We have witnessed a big shift in the way companies want to offer benefits. As a result, there is an increase in benefits plans curated by insurance companies and technology players,” Shantanoo Saxena, executive vice president of Health Solutions for India at Aon, said. The Aon study revealed a 51% increase in companies offering outpatient department (OPD) benefits compared to 2019. Among the hi-tech and consulting industries and small and medium-sized companies, the provision of primary care benefits more than doubled and tripled in this period, respectively. “The benefits landscape in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic has shown increased fluctuations,” Ashley Dsilva, head of Health Solutions for India at Aon, said.
