All eyes are fixed on Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) as the supplier of Artificial Intelligence (AI) hardware and software gears up to report what could potentially be the most important event of the Q2 earnings season.

Sandeep Tandon, Ankit Pande, Sanjeev Sharma, and Vasav Sahgal will manage the scheme.

Adani Enterprises: Kempas Trade and Investment Ltd., a promoter of Adani group, has said that it increased its stake in the group's flagship Adani Enterprises buying a 2.22% stake in the company from the open market between 7 August and 18 August. The stake purchase could be worth ₹6,348.12 crore according to the volume weighted average price of Adani Enterprises during that period. With the latest purchase, Kempas Trade and Investment’s promoter stake in Adani Enterprises has risen to 69.87% from 67.65%.

In a letter to the ministry of electronics and information technology in July, BSA India--the Indian arm of a software alliance comprising the companies mentioned earlier and others like Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Salesforce, Autodesk and Slack--said these companies find it difficult to bid for or list their products and services on the government’s GEM (government e-marketplace) portal as they are unable to determine or define “local value addition”. Software development is often undertaken by global teams and involves outsourced providers in different geographies, BSA India said in the letter, adding that it is very difficult or impossible to determine the contribution of particular locations to the overall value of the software.

Nvidia, the world's leading maker of chips tailored for artificial intelligence. At a startup that was later bought by the semiconductor giant Intel, Rao worked on chips intended to replace Nvidia's graphics processing units, which are components adapted for AI tasks like machine learning. But while Intel moved slowly, Nvidia swiftly upgraded its products with new AI features that countered what he was developing, Rao said. After leaving Intel and leading a software startup, MosaicML, Rao used Nvidia's chips and evaluated them against those from rivals.

Chinese smartphone brand Honor is returning to the Indian market this September in a new avatar. The brand, earlier owned by Huawei, is being licensed by Gurugram-based PSAV Global, said a senior company executive. The Competition and Markets Authority last month gave its provisional approval to the deal announced in May 2022, and said on Monday that «its final decision is that the deal does not substantially reduce competition — clearing it to proceed in the UK». Broadcom is seeking to expand into the software market to boost its server business and has already acquired two complementary firms, CA Technology and Symantec. VMware's key product allows different clients to share computer servers by creating what is called a virtual server. British regulators conducted a more in-depth probe into whether the merged company would have an interest in hobbling rivals by making its products work less well or be incompatible. It also examined whether the merged company would gain undue advantage by rivals needing to submit information to make their products interoperable. The CMA found that restricting product interoperability would cause the merged company greater financial losses than gains, and that it would not gain competitive advantage when rivals provided it with product information to ensure that interoperability. «In this case, having carefully considered the evidence and found no competition concerns, we have concluded the deal can go ahead,» said Richard Feasey, chairman of the independent panel that carried out the in-depth probe of the merger. The European Union gave its approval to the merger last month and Broadcom said on Monday that United States authorities did not take action to block the deal during the statutory waiting period.
