UPS CEO Parke stage Power Solar Tata Power arm to set up 4.4 MW solar project for ANAND Group
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with automotive components maker ANAND Group to set up a captive 4.4 MW solar project. In a statement, the Tata Power arm said it will facilitate the generation of 10 million units of clean energy and eliminate 5,500 tonnes of carbon emissions annually as part of the agreement. TPREL has signed a power delivery agreement (PDA) for 4.4 MW AC with the ANAND Group, it said. «This group captive project highlights our commitment to support the automotive industry in becoming more sustainable and environmentally focussed,» Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited CEO Ashish Khanna said. Previously, Tata Power and the ANAND Group collaborated for a 10.1-MW Solar PV park power project, located in Maharashtra.

SJVN shares rose 5% and hit a 52-week high at Rs 63.8 in Tuesday's trade on BSE after the firm's wholly owned subsidiary received the letter of award from Assam Power Development Corporation Limited (APDCL). «SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has received a Letter of Awards from Assam Power Development Corporation Limited (APDCL) for three solar power projects of cumulative capacity 320 MW,» the company said in an exchange filing. SGEL had participated in three separate tariff-based competitive bidding tenders of APDCL i.e. 50 MW, 70 MW and 200 MW. The 50 MW and 70 MW projects are under the solar park category and have been allotted at a tariff of Rs 3.92/Unit. While the 200 MW project is to be developed anywhere in Assam and has been allotted at a tariff of Rs 3.90/Unit, SJVN said. These three solar power projects shall be developed on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis.

Speaking at a panel discussion on ‘The Future of Clean Energy in India: A 500GW Vision’, Mohit Bhargava, CEO, NTPC Green Energy noted that domestic solar module manufacturing capacity is now close to 20-25 GW, but the supply chain is still dependent on Chinese imports for products like cells and wafers. He added that given the concerns on continuing imports, the Centre has rolled out the second phase of the production linked incentive scheme for solar modules, which would support the entire value chain from cells to modules.
