Ambuja Cements, part of Adani Group firm, on Friday announced the commissioning of a 200 MW solar power project in Khavda, Gujarat, to supply green power to 20 cement plants. The Khavda project is part of Adani Cements' plan to have 1 GW of renewable power from solar and wind projects, along with 376 MW from WHRS (Waste Heat Recovery Systems). «The balance 806 MW capacity from this project is at various stages of commissioning and expected to start transmitting in phases between March 2025 and June 2025,» said a statement.

The space agency conducted the tests late last month on November 29 in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu and announced its success post analyses. «The C20 cryogenic engine successfully passes a critical test in ambient condition, featuring restart enabling systems-a vital step for future missions,» ISRO said on X. The CE20 engine powers the upper stage of ISRO's LVM3 launch vehicle, which has played a pivotal role in missions like Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3, and is expected to be integral for the upcoming Gaganyaan mission, India's first human spaceflight attempt. According to ISRO so far the engine has successfully powered the upper stage of six LVM3 missions. For the Gaganyaan mission, its usage will help in enhancing the payload capability of the launch vehicle.

Power distribution utilities (discoms) legacy dues have come down by a whopping 82 per cent in over two years to Rs 24,684 crore this month, Parliament was informed on Thursday. Around 13 states reported arrears amounting to Rs 1,39,947 crore as of June 3, 2022, and rescheduled them into EMIs (equated monthly installments), Minister of State for Power Shripad Naik said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha. The minister said after the payment of 29 EMIs by the distribution utilities, including pre-payment of legacy dues by some utilities, the outstanding dues have reduced to Rs 24,684 crore as of December 6, 2024. The discoms have paid Rs 1,15,263 crore outstanding since June 2022, he added.
