Nestle India’s chairman and managing director Suresh Narayanan is retiring from the company effective July 31, 2025,, Nestle said in a stock exchange filing on Monday. Narayanan will be succeeded by Manish Tiwary, country leader at e-commerce platform Amazon, as managing director of Nestle effect 1st August, 2025. Narayanan has been associated with Nestle for over 26 years. Tiwary, with nearly three decades within the e-commerce and consumer goods sectors, has been with Amazon India since 2016, after 20 years at Unilever.

Canada (IRCC) has extended a temporary public policy that exempts certain low-risk foreign nationals within Canada from needing an additional immigration medical examination (IME). The policy, which has been in place for two years, will now continue until October 5, 2029. This extension is designed to speed up application processing and enhance services for eligible applicants. The exemption applies to foreign nationals who have either a new or pending application for permanent or temporary residence or a permanent resident visa made from within Canada. To qualify, applicants must have completed an IME within the past five years, even if it has expired. They should have posed no public health or safety risk or have reported to public health authorities as required for monitoring. This policy has already benefited more than 286,000 individuals, enabling faster processing and reducing bureaucratic delays. By extending it, IRCC aims to continue improving operational efficiency while monitoring public health outcomes in partnership with the Public Health Agency of Canada. This also allows more time to assess the long-term effectiveness of the streamlined process.

S-70 Okhotnik stealth drone was shot down over Kostiantynivka, a city in Ukraine's Donetsk region. While initial reports from Telegram channels suggested Ukrainian forces may have been responsible, further investigation confirmed that the drone was destroyed by Russian forces in a friendly fire incident. Iran's supreme leader has decorated the Revolutionary Guards aerospace commander for the Islamic republic's missile attacks on arch-foe Israel, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's website said on Sunday. «Ayatollah Khamenei presented the Order of Fath (»Conquest" in Farsi) to General Amirali Hajizadeh, commander of the Guards Aerospace Force," it said. The CM, speaking to the media at Raichur on Saturday, said he would place the 13-volume findings, submitted to the government in February, before the Cabinet for a decision. India's decision to ease restrictions on rice exports. Last month, the Indian government withdrew a blanket ban on overseas shipments of non-basmati white rice. It imposed a floor price of USD 490 per tonne and exempted the commodity from export duty. Exports of non-basmati white rice were banned from July 20, 2023, to boost domestic supply. «It's welcoming news for all the importers like us, as South Africa imports roughly 10 million tonnes of rice every year. After Thailand and Vietnam, which account for 70 per cent of imports of rice in South Africa, India is the next biggest exporter of rice to South Africa,» said Pranav Thakkar of Dev International, one of the largest importers of Indian products to South Africa.
