Despite several high-profile cryptocurrency implosions, the number of people working in the industry has soared over the past four years.

HDFC Bank Monday beat D-Street estimates to register a 30% on-year rise in its net profit for the June quarter, the last three-month period for which India's most-valued lender reported standalone performance, buttressed by lower provisions toward doubtful advances and higher core income. Profit climbed to ₹11,951.7 crore, beating estimates of ₹11,375.1 crore drawn from analysts polled by Bloomberg. The bank, which merged with its mortgage-lending parent HDFC from July 1, had posted profits of ₹9,196 crore in the same period last year.

HDFC Bank reported a 30% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit for the quarter ended June to Rs 11,952 crore, which was higher than an ET Now poll of Rs 11,000 crore. The total income for the quarter increased 39% YoY to Rs 57,817 crore. This is the first earnings of the bank following the merger with parent Housing Development Finance Corporation.

A US District Judge ruled on Thursday that Ripple Labs did not violate federal securities law by selling its XRP token on public exchanges, a decision that sent the value of the token soaring by as much as 68% in the last 24 hours. «Crypto coins experienced a rise in value following a federal judge's decision in the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple Labs, which was seen as a victory for the industry in terms of defining securities,» said ZebPay Trade Desk.

Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency, is currently trading at $31,449, marking a notable surge of over 3.5% on Friday. 

Despite concerns reports that one of the largest SHIB holding wallet moved nearly $30 million to eight different wallets on Thursday, which could signal that the wallet’s owner intends to dump these tokens onto the market, Shiba Inu (SHIB) pumped 6.5% on the day.

However, it retraced back to $30,350 as the US June Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Producer Price Index (PPI) will be released this week, bringing inflation data back into the spotlight,» said CoinDCX Research Team. Shubham Hudda, Senior Manager at CoinSwitch Markets Desk, said, «The CPI (YoY) consensus forecast this time is 3.1% — down from the previous reading of 4%. A lower-than-expected reading can give the entire market an upward push, however, it seems like the market may not be as concerned in case the reading comes out to be more than 3.1%.»
