DU unveils ambitious satellite system plan for real-time student exchanges
Delhi University is in the process of realising a future where students can collaborate in real-time with peers from universities around the world, using satellite technology for seamless communication and remote learning. The university is set to implement a satellite system initiative which will make this a reality under its newly approved Institutional Development Plan (IDP), reported TOI. The plan outlines both short-term and long-term goals, including infrastructure enhancements and sustainability efforts, such as recycling programs, water conservation, and the introduction of electric vehicles on campus. The satellite initiative is a major step forward for the university, aiming to integrate cutting-edge technology into education. «It will facilitate global digital connectivity while also contributing to national priorities in security, navigation, and environmental monitoring,» said a senior official. Through partnerships with organisations like ISRO, DU hopes to provide students and researchers with access to crucial data and resources worldwide, according to the TOI report.

My sister tells me PM repeating things, maybe he has memory loss, Rahul Gandhi says
Rahul Gandhi compared Prime Minister to US President Joe Biden on Saturday, saying both have 'memory' challenges. «My sister was telling me that she heard Modi ji's speech where he has been speaking the same thing that we have been speaking all along. I don't know, maybe he has memory loss. Like the former US President of America (Biden) used to say something here and there. He had to be reminded from behind that you should not be speaking this, you need to be speaking this,» said Gandhi. He added, " There the Ukraine President had come (to visit Biden in the US) and the US President spoke of the Russian President Putin had come, then people from behind had to tell him that it was the Ukraine President who had arrived, he (Biden) had a memory loss. Similarly our Prime Minister is suffering from memory loss. I don't know he might even come and claim that the state government is giving you Rs 7,000 per quintal on Soybean," said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a campaign rally in Amravati.

Blow for India as Shubman Gill fractures left thumb, all but out of Perth Test
Shubman Gill sustained a left thumb fracture which is likely to rule him out of the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Optus Stadium in Perth, starting November 22. Gill, one of the young heroes of India's last Border-Gavaskar Trophy triumph, is a batting mainstay and in case skipper Rohit Sharma opts out of the first Test, India's top-order could look very thin. Gill got hurt while fielding on the second day of the intra-squad match simulation. He was seen in considerable pain and immediately left the field for further scans. According to a BCCI source privy to the development, Gill has indeed fractured his left thumb and with less than a week left for the Test to start, it will be near impossible for the stylish right-hander to get fit in time for the opening match.
