Five Naxalites killed, two security men injured in Bastar clash
Naxalites were killed and two security personnel injured in an anti-insurgency operation in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region on Saturday, a senior police official said.
The gunfight broke out at around 8 am in a forest in north Abujhmad near the borders of Narayanpur and Kanker districts, while a joint team of security forces was conducting an anti-Naxalite operation, he added.
The operation included personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF), District Reserve Guard (DRG), and Special Task Force (STF), he stated.
So far, the bodies of five Naxalites and a cache of weaponry have been found from the site, according to the official, who also stated that a search operation is still underway in the region.
