A total of 4,136 candidates are contesting for the 288 seats, of which 234 are in the general category, 29 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 25 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
“Voters must carry their Voter ID or an approved identification document and ensure their details are correct on the voters’ list to avoid inconvenience,” said an Election Commission spokesperson.
Maharashtra has 9.7 crore eligible voters, including 4.97 crore men, 4.66 crore women. This includes 20.93 lakh first-time voters aged 18–19. There are also 1.85 crore young voters aged 18–29.
