Sledging is the newest dating trend and it's gaining attention, especially among Gen Z, this winter season, after throning, breadcrumbing, ghosting, situationships, love bombing and zombieing.
What is sledging?
Sledging refers to a relationship your significant other keeps going through the winter holiday season with the full intention of breaking up with you afterward. It refers to Gen Z singletons intentionally dragging someone along through the winter season, delaying a breakup to avoid being single during the coldest months of the year. The new trend is being observed among Gen Z wherein those between 18 to 25 years of age.

The winter (cuffing) season has always been about finding a partner or relationship for this winter. However, things are different in case of sledging as it is not about a true and genuine connection. This new trend of sledging sees Gen Zers deliberately drawing out dates with people they’re not as interested in, or choosing to delay a breakup for months, to avoid being alone over the festive period.
