KL Rahul likely to continue as captain of LSG despite ‘public scolding’
KL Rahul's future as Lucknow Super Giants skipper has become a topic of intense debate after his team received a pasting at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. It is being speculated that the skipper may step down and concentrate on his batting in the remaining two games. However since it's a matter of just two games, Rahul is expected to continue as leader of the pack. «There is a five-day gap before the next game against DC. As of now, no decision has been taken but it is understood that if Rahul plans to just concentrate on his batting for the remaining two games, no one would mind,» an IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity. A video of LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka's agitated conversation with Rahul emerged on social media after Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Travis Head (89 not out off 30 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (75 off 28 balls) bludgeoned the LSG attack to overhaul the 167-run target in less than 10 overs.

News of slowing demand for electric vehicles highlights the hazards of the federal government’s Soviet-style mandate that 100 per cent of new light-duty vehicles sold must be electric or plug-in hybrid by 2035 (with interim targets of 20 per cent by 2026 and 60 per cent by 2030 and steep penalties for dealers missing these targets).

In Maharashtra, oppn faces toilet, khichdi and other cases
enforcement agencies against its candidates or office bearers. A BJP spokesperson, however, denied that the Opposition was being targeted for political reasons. Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) Sena's candidate for Mumbai North-West, Amol Kirtikar, has received a notice from Enforcement Directorate hours after he filed his nomination. The notice was in a case of 'providing substandard khichdi' to migrant workers after the Modi government's overnight nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Covid-19. Similarly, Nashik police served UBT Sena district chief Sudhakar Badgujar with an 'externment' notice. He has several cases against him and it is not clear why the notice was served on him. However, he was in the news for allegedly dancing in a farmhouse in 2016 with Salim Kutta, an aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. The notice was served hours after Shiv Sena minister Dada Bhuse said, during a campaign for Sena MP Hemant Godse, that CM Eknath Shinde should look into the Badgujar and Kutta issue. Godse is engaged in a tough fight with UBT Sena's Rajabhau Waje in Nashik.

Nexus to add three malls in portfolio with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore
fashion brands is a matter of concern as they contribute 50% of the business of Nexus Select Trust which operates 17 malls across the country with over 10 million sq ft of space, Dalip Sehgal, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer told ET. Blackstone backed India’s first publicly listed retail Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is looking to invest Rs 1,000 crore in acquiring three malls in Hyderabad to take the total portfolio to 20 malls and 11 million sq ft. “The way fashion brands are doing is a matter of concern for us but other category such as electronics and beauty are growing by 18-20% and helped us in achieving the target. In fashion segment also, some of the D2C brands are doing really well so the existing brands need to reinvent and I believe the second half of the year will be better,” said Sehgal.

Governor Andrew Bailey, Sarah Breeden, Ben Broadbent, Megan Greene, Jonathan Haskel, Catherine Mann and Huw Pill all voted in favour of the proposition. The two diverging members were Swati Dhingra and Dave Ramsden. The decision comes as inflation remained above the Bank's 2% target at 3.2%. Yemen's Houthi rebels claim 2 attacks in Gulf of Aden, another unreported in Indian Ocean
Yemen's Houthi rebels on Thursday claimed two missile attacks in the Gulf of Aden on two Panama-flagged container ships that caused no damage, while also saying they targeted a ship in the Indian Ocean in a previously unreported assault. The claims by Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree come as the tempo of the rebel attacks have waned in recent weeks as they've been targeted by repeated airstrikes launched by a U.S.-led coalition warship in waterways crucial to international trade. The Houthis insist their assaults will continue as long as Israel's war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip goes on. Saree in a prerecorded statement claimed attacks on the MSC Diego and MSC Gina. The Joint Maritime Information Center, a U.S.-led coalition of nations operating in the Mideast, said those two missile attacks happened early Tuesday.
