FSSAI is now more pro-active, industry-centred with fast responses: Nestle
FSSAI, and the Indian food regulator has now become more pro-active and industry-centred with fast responses in the last decade, said Nestle India Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan. Moreover, with the setting of more NABL-accredited laboratories by different leaders of FSSAI, the credibility of the testing process has also increased, said Narayanan, who led Nestle India after the Maggi crisis, which unfolded almost a decade back. In June 2015, FSSAI banned Maggi noodles for allegedly containing lead beyond permissible limits, forcing the company to withdraw the product from the market. Industry observers opine that only after the Maggi crisis did the FSSAI come into the limelight across the country though it was established almost seven years ago, in September 2008, to lay down science-based standards for food articles and rules and regulations.

India vs New Zealand test series: Yashasvi Jaiswal continues record-breaking spree; Here's list
Yashasvi Jaiswal who showcased his capabilities against mighty New Zealand has sealed records despite India struggling to score against the Kiwis in the ongoing test series. The new entry to the team etched his name into the record books, continuing his incredible run of form in Test cricket. The 22-year-old left-hander, who made his India debut in July 2023, reached yet another milestone on Saturday by becoming only the third Indian cricketer to score over 1000 runs in home Tests in a single calendar year. He joins Indian legends Gundappa Vishwanath (1047) and Sunil Gavaskar (1013), both of whom accomplished the feat in 1979. This achievement comes just a day after Jaiswal became the first Indian to score 1000 Test runs in a calendar year before turning 23. His stellar performances have seen him accumulate more than 1300 runs in his short Test career, at an impressive average of nearly 60, which includes three centuries and eight fifties.
