PM Modi to inaugurate India's first vertical sea bridge in Rameswaram on Ram Navami; here’s why Pamban Bridge is special
PM Modi is set to inaugurate the new Pamban bridge, India’s first vertical sea bridge, in Tamil Nadu on April 6, coinciding with Ram Navami, a significant Hindu festival marking the birth of Lord Ram. The inauguration is expected soon after PM Modi returns from his two-day visit to Sri Lanka on April 4-5. Constructed at a cost of Rs 535 crore, this ambitious engineering project was executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Spanning just over two kilometres, the bridge replaces the old 1914-built bridge, which had become severely corroded after over a century of service and was closed in 2022. This new bridge is expected to enhance rail connectivity to Rameswaram, one of the most sacred sites in Hinduism, associated with the legend of Lord Ram's bridge to Lanka as told in the Ramayana.

Neo Infrastructure Income Opportunities Fund to acquire two road assets for Rs 1,500 crore
Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), has signed definitive agreements to acquire two operational road assets from CDS Infra Projects for Rs 1,500 crore. The assets, developed under the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), are located in Haryana and Punjab and form part of the 669-km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. The transaction is subject to regulatory and NHAI approvals, along with customary closing conditions. NIIOF, the flagship core infrastructure fund of Neo Asset Management, focuses on acquiring derisked, operational infrastructure assets that generate stable and predictable cash flows. HAM road projects operate under 15-year concessions with NHAI, offering contracted revenues independent of traffic volumes, making them relatively lower-risk investments.

These figures came to light as the Delhi Traffic Police considered action against reckless drivers and repeat offenders in the city. It’s not unusual to witness vehicles from cabs to goods carriers racing through traffic, weaving dangerously between lanes, and frustrating other motorists.

In the post, he explained, how, after relocating to Rajarajeshwari Nagar three years ago, he saw another face of his beloved city. His daily commute to his office near MG Road had become a significant factor in his frustrations, leading him to reflect on the changing nature of the city. For years, his family had relied on personal vehicles as their primary mode of transportation, finding it both convenient and efficient. Lately, he argued, navigating Bengaluru's roads had become increasingly cumbersome. The pollution, particularly dust, had worsened to an alarming degree.

Most unicorn founders not natives, Pai says, urging CM not to create illiberal environment
“They have come and enriched us here, created huge jobs. We must be an open progressive forward society not parochial like some of our neighbors, he said in a post on X. “The best and brightest of India are welcome here.” He was referring to data that showed most unicorn founders came from Maharashtra followed by Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. In a series of posts, he warned that Karnataka was on its way of losing out massively by the time the term of the present Congress regime ends, while urging chief minister Siddaramaiah to act for a “mid-course correction". The former Infosys board member said this in response to a reported remark by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy that his state was finding it difficult to pay salaries to employees on the first day of every month due to the weak financial position of the state.
