The central government had launched the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme on October 21, 2016, to make air travel affordable for the people. "..We have observed the huge success that the RCS UDAN scheme has achieved. So, we want to extend it for another 10 years and see what gaps are there and try to address them...Right now, we have 157 (airports), in the plan of Viksit Bharat for 2047, we are planning to improve these 157 airports to 400 airports — including waterdrome airports, heliports and everything," said Naidu on Wednesday.

strike by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) employees was called off on late Wednesday evening following government's assurance of a salary hike, union leaders said, providing a relief to passengers planning travel during the ensuing Ganesh festival. An action committee of trade unions representing employees of the state-run corporation announced an end to the strike after a meeting with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who agreed to give a Rs 6,500 per month hike in basic salary to MSRTC staffers, fulfilling their main demand. The hike will come into effect retrospectively from April 2020, said a release from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO). «We are calling off our agitation as the chief minister has assured a salary hike to MSRTC employees,» Sandeep Shinde, a leader of the Maharashtra ST Kamgar Sanghtana, told PTI, after the meeting with Shinde.

Dilawar explained that there’s no special reason behind changing the colour of the bicycles. However, he pointed out that during the previous BJP government in Rajasthan, the bicycles were saffron. When the Congress came to power, they changed the colour to black. Dilawar emphasised that saffron is a symbol of valour and bravery, recalling that patriots wore this colour during India’s independence movement. «With this thought in mind, we have decided to change the colour to saffron,» he said. The free bicycle scheme in Rajasthan started in 2009 to help girls stay in school, as many drop out in Class 9 due to transportation issues. Over 7 lakh girls are eligible for these bicycles, and the government also provides a travel allowance to those living within three to five kilometres of their school.
