DPI dependent Indian startups valued at $100 billion: Nandan Nilekani
Infosys co-founder and chairman Nandan Nilekani on Wednesday said startups powered by India's digital public infrastructure are valued at $100 billion. Speaking at the annual Global Fintech Fest here, Nilekani said the very idea while building an Aadhar or unified payments interface (UPI) was to build the rails that could be used by the private sector or entrepreneurs to come out with innovative offerings. «The estimate is that the market value of startups on top of India's DPI is about $100 billion,» he added. He also said the future of finance will be a concept he and some people call "Finternet".

‘We are living in truly dangerous times — the field of ecology can teach economics about cooperation and mutual survival’: Simon Levin
Simon A. Levin is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University. Speaking to Srijana Mitra Das, he discusses lessons for economic systems from nature: They are considered entirely separate fields — why do you say economy and ecology are in fact similar? The economist Kenneth Arrow once explained it was no coincidence that both ecology and economics begin with ‘eco’, which means ‘house’. Ecological systems are economic there is competition for resources, exploitation, etc., while economic systems are like ecology, with individuals making decisions, emergent patterns and the like.

MH370 flight mystery solved? Missing Malaysian Airlines plane's 'hiding spot' found in Indian Ocean? What we know so far
MH370 flight mystery has been surrounded by a number of claims and conspiracy theories. However, in spite of the searches, the missing plane couldn't be tracked. Now, an Australian researcher has claimed to detect what he called «perfect hiding place» for Malaysia Airlines MH370 flight. An adjunct researcher at the University of Tasmania Vincent Lyne has claimed that MH370 flight disappeared in the south-eastern Indian Ocean's 20,000ft-deep oceanic plateau «hole» — Broken Ridge. US government's face during Covid Anthony Fauci hospitalized after West Nile virus infection. Check symptoms, health update
Anthony Fauci is recovering from West Nile virus after being hospitalized with the mosquito-borne illness for nearly a week, he told Stat News on Saturday. As chief White House medical adviser, 83-year-old Fauci, became the face of the US government's efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. He retired in December 2022 after 54 years at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) including 38 serving as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Fauci last summer joined the faculty at Georgetown University as a distinguished university professor. In an interview with Stat News on Saturday, Fauci said he had spent six days in a hospital starting August 16 while doctors tried to discern the source of his weakness, fever and chills. He then tested positive for West Nile virus, and he told the digital news outlet: «I’ve never been as sick in my life.»
