The constituency derives its name from the Sanskrit word, Gorakshapuram which means abode of Gorakhnath. Gorakhpur has been known to have been a stronghold of BJP. The electoral battleground sees tough competition between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party. The particular constituency holds importance for the current state Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, who was winning for five years but later decided to give up the position to be a part of the state legislative. BluPine Energy on Wednesday said it has secured a loan of Rs 1,260 crore from Standard Chartered Bank and TATA Capital for its wind project in Gujarat. After completion, the 198 MW plant is expected to generate about 65 GWh (gigawatt hour) of wind energy annually, offsetting about 6 lakh tonne of CO2 emissions, the company said. «With the addition of this project, our cumulative solar and wind energy capacity in Gujarat will scale up to 750 MW...across 7 projects under GUVNL. Moreover, the overall renewable energy capacity will reach approximately 2.4 GW, with 730 MW currently operational,» Neerav Nanavaty, CEO of BluPine Energy, said. The electricity generated from this plant will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date.

BPCL, Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority and municipal corporations of Raipur and Bhilai for production of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) in Chhattisgarh, officials said. As per the pact, BPCL- a central PSU, will set up CBG plants in Raipur and Bhilai with an investment of around Rs 100 crore and the capacity of each plant will be 100-150 tonne per day. The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Arun Sao here at the former's official residence, they said. In his address, Chief Minister Sai said the establishment of CBG plants is a key step towards clean city, clean energy and zero carbon emissions.

Nazara Technologies is setting aside about Rs 830 crore ($100 million) to finance mergers and acquisitions in India, Europe and North America. Adani Group stocks plunged up to 13% on Wednesday, erasing nearly Rs 90,000 crore from the combined market capitalisation of the 10 listed stocks. The top loser in the day's trade was Adani Green Energy, which lost 13% to hit the day's low of Rs 1,650 on the NSE. It was followed by Adani Total Gas and Adani Energy Solutions which cracked nearly 8% each. Nifty constituents Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone dropped around 7%. Others including Adani Power, Adani Wilmar, ACC, Ambuja Cements, and New Delhi Television (NDTV) fell up to 5%.

The stock opened at Rs 204.25 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 205.65 and Rs 192.2, respectively, in the session so far.
