Manipur: Valley-based civil organisation to march towards hill districts on March 8
Federation of Civil Society (FOCS), a valley-based civil organization, will march towards the hill districts on March 8. The organization plans to march from Imphal to Senapati. Several Kuki-Zo organizations have opposed the march, warning them to stay away from Kuki areas. The Federation of Civil Society Organizations has called on all communities to support the Peace Message Rally that will be held from Imphal to Senapati (which is a Naga-dominated area). FOCS President Th. Manihar expressed appreciation for the recent initiative allowing free movement for all communities across the state’s highways and roads. He urged the removal of all red zones and buffer zones in the state and called for all people from all communities to unite once again. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed that free movement across the state be ensured from March 8 onwards. The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) had announced restrictions on movement in the Kuki-Zo areas; even the Village Volunteers Eastern Zone stated that there would be no free movement in Kuki-Zo areas before the establishment of a Separate Administration/Union Territory with a legislature for the Kuki-Zo people.

Premier League predictions for Champions, UEFA Champions League: EPL forecast for Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and other clubs
Premier League. Runaway leader Liverpool looks certain to win a record-equaling 20th title. At the other end of the standings, three from the current bottom four clubs will probably be relegated. The Champions League places, however, are up for grabs with just six points separating the teams placed from third to 10th. And with the Premier League in pole position to win a bonus fifth spot in the Champions League next season, the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Fulham are in contention.

Why Indian automakers are not scared of Elon Musk
Elon Musk's electric car maker Tesla, which has been actively exploring opportunities to enter the Indian market, is opening a showroom in Mumbai’s upscale business district Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to sell its imported cars. Tesla has plans to set up a manufacturing plant in Maharashtra. The most popular electric car brand in the world has long been seen as a heavyweight which will disrupt Indian's nascent electric vehicle (EV) market. But Indian automaker don't seem to be scared of Musk's India venture. JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal has doubted Musk’s ability to crack the Indian market, asserting that local giants Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are now deeply entrenched. JSW Group has a JV with China's SAIC Motor, JSW MG Motor India Pvt. Ltd, which sells EVs such as MG Comet EV, MG ZS EV, MG Windsor EV, MG 4 EV, and MG M9 EV. It is planning to launch several new EV models in 2025, including the Cyberster, an electric sports car. India's EV sales are merely 2.5% of the total passenger vehicle sales. Can Indian EV makers take on the world's biggest EV brand while they are still in their infancy?

Tax harvesting to rescue equity investors: How loss from equities could help you save more tax
income tax only when you sell your holdings. While you need to pay taxes on your gains, you also get an opportunity to save taxes in case you incur losses. Short-term capital loss on selling equities can be adjusted against any short-term or long-term capital gains on selling equities. When it comes to long-term capital loss it can be adjusted only against long-term capital gain on equities. You are also allowed to carry over the losses for future years. This method, which is called tax harvesting method allows individual taxpayers to not pay capital gains tax on their equity shares and mutual funds. However, this method can only be effectively used only if you have long term capital gains (LTCG) on equities up to Rs 1.25 lakh or have any significant loss from equities. The reason for this is because LTCG up to Rs 1.25 lakh is non-taxable though you need to declare this income in the ITR. However, if you have any significant loss, then you can set off it against any capital gains in future and can even carry it forward for up to eight years. The best part is that the new tax regime does not specifically alter the rules for claiming capital gains losses. Moreover, the new tax regime maintains the same rules as the old tax regime for carrying forward losses.

OMC stocks up 16% in 4 sessions as crude hits 3-year low, but 4 key risks still loom
crude oil prices has fueled a rally in state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs), with stocks gaining up to 16% over four consecutive sessions. Investors are optimistic that lower crude prices will boost OMC margins, but several headwinds persist, including higher crude oil imports from the US, LPG under-recoveries, and a depreciating rupee. The crude prices are currently at a 3-year low and Brent has slipped below the $70/ bbl mark while the US WTI is hovering around $66/bbl.
