Don’t make fresh investment in ABB, Hitachi, or Siemens now; buy PSU stocks: Dipan Mehta
Dipan Mehta, Director, Elixir Equities, says from a fresh investment angle, avoid ABB, Hitachi, and Siemens. All of these companies’ existing investors may remain invested, but this is not the time to make a fresh investment. These are great stocks to buy when there is a down cycle in the capex cycle and these companies’ earnings are stagnating or even growing negatively, but not at these times when the stocks have rallied as they have. For now, it is a hold for Mehta. Dipan Mehta further says that investors who are underweight on PSUs banks or defence or engineering companies, this corrective phase is a good opportunity to get at least equal weight. What do you make of this counter because Ola Electric has been vulnerable to a lot of volatility just in the last couple of weeks. What are you making of this counter and fundamentally, how does this stock look to you? Dipan Mehta: One cannot really comment exactly why the stock is up 20%. There is no specific fundamental news that has come to my notice at least, except that they are keeping on launching new models and they are addressing their complaint-related issues. But apart from that, I do not know why the stock is up 20%.

Adani allegations shine spotlight on India's clean energy conundrum
Adani Group founder Gautam Adani have highlighted the growing problem India's renewable energy developers face in finding buyers for the power they generate. While India's central government wants to shift away from polluting coal-fired generation towards solar and wind, officials say state government-owned power distribution companies responsible for keeping the lights on have dragged their heels over striking renewable purchase deals. U.S. authorities allege that Indian billionaire Adani conspired to devise a $265 million scheme to bribe Indian state government officials to secure solar power supply deals, after one of his companies was unable to secure buyers for a $6 billion project for several years.

‘Incredible snow totals’: Squalls to hit parts of Ontario, up to 80 cm possible
Ontario are set to see “incredible snow totals” over the next few days due to a shift in temperatures over the Great Lakes.Water temperatures across the lakes has been at record mild levels given the calm fall so far, Global News meteorologist Anthony Farnell said. However, a looming change in temperature between the lake and the air will create “ideal conditions” for lake effect snow, he added.“Areas downwind of all five Great Lakes will see some incredible snow totals this upcoming weekend and travel will be difficult at best,” Farnell said.“The Lake Huron and Georgian Bay snow squalls will quickly intensify early Friday morning and continue right into early next week.”Farnell added because water temperatures are still so mild, areas right near those will see a heavier, wet snow that will limit amounts at least initially. As the wind shifts slightly, the snow squalls will also shift, bringing the heaviest snow amounts to different communities depending on the day.In the most intense squalls, snow rates could reach as high as 8 cm per hour with thunder and lightning, he said.“By Monday, snow totals could reach as high as 80 cm under the more persistent snow squalls.
