«Initially, yes, there is always a resistance to the change. We might see some of that impact happening. Also, we have to understand that market has been moving in one direction for quite a long time. Now, everybody has been waiting for some kind of correction,» says Daljeet Kohli, Head Equity Roha Asset Managers. Do you think aside of the global weakness, part of the fear in the market right now also could be with news around the sebi F&O norms? Daljeet Kohli: Yes, I think that would be one of the considerations because these days markets we know that 95%, 98% of the total market volumes are F&O. UPS Career Action Parke Celebrity consequences How to navigate and work with the household’s joint financial decisions
museum was not a good investment of time and money. He had a long walk along the river on his mind. The children were staring at the arguing parents and suggesting that they go to a theme park instead. We systematically underestimate the complexities of joint decisions in a household. Two people, who are different in many ways, come together in a marriage. We also know that children born to the same parents, growing up in the same household, end up being very different people. However, we celebrate the family as a unit, enjoy spending time together, and hope to amicably collaborate and make joint decisions. Authority works for a while. Persuasion lasts a little longer. Mostly, it is willing or unwilling compromise. When it comes to money, it is usually worse. The first idea to internalise is that we all have distinct and different money personalities. Some of us love to spend, some can’t let go of money. Some take risks, others don’t. Some obsess over the long term, others live for the now. The list is long. We may remain together as a family unit, but hold very different views about how to earn, spend, save and invest.

markets COST UPS Target prevention How to rebalance your investment portfolio
WHAT’S REBALANCING? As the name suggests, rebalancing means helping regain the balance. When the reference is to an investment portfolio, it means reverting to the original asset allocation or portfolio composition. This is done by buying or selling different assets so that the initial balance or weightage of assets is retained. An investment portfolio is built with different assets— equity, debt or fixed income, real estate, gold—in a specified proportion or percentage. This depends on the investor’s financial goals, time horizon, risk appetite, returns from assets, etc. Now, suppose the market is in a bull phase and the equity component earns very high returns. This means the proportion or value of one asset (equity) will increase, while that of another (debt) will drop due to differing returns, altering the original equity-debt mix. This altered weightage needs to be returned to the initial balance by buying or selling assets.
