In an exclusive interview with ANI, P Chidambaram said, «NEET is a scandal and we have been saying this for the last 3-4 years. Tamil Nadu has passed a resolution in the assembly demanding the exemption of the state from NEET. Each state must have the right to conduct its own entrance examination to select students for the colleges run by the state government. When you have an all-India-level examination, these scandals are bound to happen.»

Delhi Police on Saturday arrested a fraudster who lured victims into participating in simple online tasks with the promise of earning a huge amount of money. A complaint was received at the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) when Akshay Kumar Singh, a resident of Dwarka, alleged that he had received a message on his telegram account on November 23 regarding a part-time job. The accused person had asked to make an account on the alleged website to buy and sell crypto currency. Additionally, some prepaid tasks were assigned to the complainant and as per the instructions of the accused, the complainant invested Rs 20,16,640 in prepaid tasks from November 23 to November 24.

Quant Mutual Fund (MF), which was under Sebi’s investigation for a front-running case, has informed its unitholders that the assets under management (AUM) and net asset values (NAV) for most schemes have reached a record high level as of July 12, 2024. The fund's AUM now exceeds Rs 94,000 crore as of July 12. The fund house conveyed this information to investors via mail on Saturday, providing clarification regarding Sebi's investigations into front-running allegations. Despite experiencing net outflows of Rs 696 crore and net equity outflows of Rs 877 crore over the last three weeks, the fund's AUM remains at an all-time high. The rise in AUM to over Rs 94,000 crore marks a significant milestone for the mutual fund house. Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) rules, issuing $2.1 million in Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs) in 2023. Canada's Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) Program remains vital for addressing labor and skill shortages when qualified Canadians and permanent residents are unavailable. The program, managed by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), aims to ensure foreign workers are protected during their stay in Canada, the government said in a statement. In the last fiscal year, ESDC conducted 2,122 inspections under the TFW Program, finding 94% of employers compliant. However, non-compliant employers faced $2.1 million in Administrative Monetary Penalties (AMPs), a 36% increase from the previous year. Additionally, 12 employers were banned from the program, up from seven in the prior year. Non-compliant employers are publicly listed on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) website.
