HCLTech expects to sign more large deals, on similar lines as the $2.1 billion contract from Verizon announced on Thursday, in the next two-three quarters, chief financial officer Prateek Aggarwal told ET, as companies double down on cost optimisation amid macroeconomic uncertainty.The Verizon deal, the largest ever for the Noida-headquartered firm, “is consolidation of the work done in-house as well as done by several other service providers”, said Aggarwal. “More than 50% of the large deals currently are the cost-optimisation type of deals.” HCLTech, the country’s third-largest software services firm, has a number of deals in advanced stages in its pipeline, he said.

They have the option to upgrade their services and avail themselves of the free NFL Sunday Ticket deal. Alternatively, they can choose to take advantage of a $100 discount on the regular price of $449. Interestingly, Google had outbid Amazon and ESPN for the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket last year, securing a seven-year deal estimated at $2 billion annually. Google's suggested retail price for the package stands at $449 for the season, with the first games becoming viewable on September 10. However, there's more good news for those who are subscribers to YouTube TV, Google's live streaming service. Until September 19, they can purchase the full season price of NFL Sunday Ticket at a discounted rate of $399, saving $50. Additionally, YouTube TV subscribers have the option to add the NFL RedZone channel for just $40. For YouTube TV subscribers on the base plan ($72.99 monthly), the NFL Sunday Ticket is available at a further reduced rate of $299. Those who wish to add the RedZone Channel can do so for $339. YouTube TV also offers live TV from over 100 channels, unlimited DVR space, and up to three simultaneous streams.

Shares of AT&T Inc fell nearly 7% to hit their lowest level in thirty years on Monday, after analysts downgraded the stock following a news report that the telecommunications giant left toxic lead cables buried across the U.S. A Wall Street Journal report on July 9 named AT&T and Verizon among several telecom giants that abandoned a sprawling network of underground toxic lead cables, with a huge number of them possibly contaminating neighboring soil and drinking water sources.

At a gathering of telecom officials more than a decade ago, John Malone, a senior AT&T manager, cautioned the group about a little-known danger crisscrossing the nation.
