Iran rebukes G7 statement over its nuclear programme escalation
Iran called upon the Group of Seven on Sunday to distance itself from «destructive policies of the past», the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said, referring to a G7 statement condemning Iran's recent nuclear programme escalation. On Friday, the G7 warned Iran against advancing its nuclear enrichment programme and said they would be ready to enforce new measures if Tehran were to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia. «Any attempt to link the war in Ukraine to the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia is an act with only biased political goals,» Kanaani said, adding that some countries are «resorting to false claims to continue sanctions» against Iran.

Pilgrims commence the final rites of Hajj as Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha
Saudi Arabia. The ritual marks the final days of Hajj pilgrimage and the start of the Eid al-Adha celebrations for Muslims around the world. The stoning is among the final rites of the Hajj, which is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It came a day after more than 1.8 million pilgrims congregated on a sacred hill in Mount Ararat outside the holy city of Mecca, which Muslim pilgrims visit to perform the annual five-day rituals of Hajj. The pilgrims left Mount Arafat on Saturday evening to spend their night in a nearby site known as Muzdalifa, where they collected pebbles they have used in the symbolic stoning of pillars representing the devil.

Will World War 3 begin next week as predicted by 'new Nostradamus'? Who is he? Know what real Nostradamus has said
World War 3 begin next week? A week after observing the 80th anniversary of D-Day when the Allied forces had landed at Normandy in World War 2, will another internecine war erupt soon? This question looms over world leaders, defense experts, historians as well as astrologers. All eyes are set on Indian astronomer Kushal Kumar, who predicted the beginning of Word War 3 on June 18, 2024. Dubbed as 'new Nostradamus', he told the 'Daily Star', «NOW, Tuesday, 18 June 2024 has the strongest planetary stimulus to trigger WW3.» Earlier, he predicted the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash last month. In a post on 'The Medium', Kumar, cited a recent terror attack on Hindu pilgrims in the Indian administered state of Kashmir. He has also talked about the shots fired at the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. The 'new Nostradamus' has also talked about the escalation of tension and conflict between Israel and the Islamist militant organization Hezbollah, after the Lebanon-based outfit fired rockets at the Jewish state.

Not enough parts are available to manufacture planes because of a persistent supply chain bottleneck, forcing several airlines to lease jets instead, often at higher prices. There’s a scramble even for those leased planes.

The growth has been on the edge for a while until countries enticed Indians with visa-free travel or visa on arrival, which has been the case with Thailand and Malaysia. While travel to South East Asia has been on the rise, largely led by increased connectivity, travel to Europe and North America is yet to see its heydays.Europe has seen an ongoing war since 2022, along with the delay in issuing Schengen visas.

War of words between NCP, BJP leaders over RSS-linked Organiser article
BJP and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP on Thursday indulged in a verbal duel over an article in Organiser, a weekly known to be close to the RSS. The article had criticised the BJP for forming an alliance with the NCP. Speaking to reporters, NCP leader and state minister Chhagan Bhujbal said, «To some extent, it (article) may be true. Some have also criticised the BJP for including leaders from the Congress, such as former chief minister Ashok Chavan. Even former Congress leader Milind Deora was inducted by CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and made an RS member.» «But who will talk about the result in Uttar Pradesh, where the BJP's seats decreased? What about other states where they lost some seats?» he asked. Later, NCP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel said, «An article in a weekly does not reflect the BJP's stance. It should not be interpreted in that manner.»

Why a Gaza Strip cease-fire is so elusive
Israel called Hamas' response to the latest peace proposal for the Gaza Strip «negative.» Hamas insisted it was dealing with it «positively.» U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking in Qatar, said Hamas had demanded changes, some of which were «workable» and some not. A Hamas official told an Arabic television channel that the group had not raised any new ideas, and that Blinken saw things through an Israeli lens and «speaks Hebrew.» The Biden administration has pledged to keep working with Qatari and Egyptian mediators to bridge the gaps. But after days of intensive diplomacy in the region, a monthslong effort to end the war in Gaza seems as stuck as ever, as each side clings stubbornly to maximalist demands unacceptable to the other.
