All three parties have fielded fresh faces in the constituency, with the Dravidian parties hoping to capitalise on their well-known symbols and the sense of loyalty among their supporters to trump the BJP. Naam Tamilar Katchi's N Sureshkumar is another candidate in the fray. The most significant issues in the constituency range from agricultural to infrastructural as residents complained that good roads, clean drinking water and increasing drug use were going to be the things they would keep in mind while picking between the two leaves, rising sun and lotus symbols.
