She apologised to her fans for not sharing a health update sooner and revealed that her health condition had taken a turn for the worse, and for the past two months she had been confined to the hospital. “I know I haven’t updated you all about my health which feels wrong seeing the number of msgs I am getting about it every day. But Things haven’t been keeping too well. So there isn’t much to share. Past 2 months I have spent mostly in the hospital. There have been some complications because of which my food has also been stopped for the past 1 month and I have a tube attached to my nose. So I am on continuous IV. Raj Bhavan in Kolkata moved the Election Commission of India, urging it to identify and take strong action against officials in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal who may have «leaked names of gangsters and goons» to political parties, sources said on Saturday. In the wake of the ongoing general elections, the office of Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose had, using its own mechanism, compiled a list of suspected criminals across the state who could be used by political parties to intimidate voters on or before poll dates besides creating other law and order situations. In the second week of March, the Raj Bhavan had shared a list of such goons and anti-social elements with top officials of the CEO's office, West Bengal, through the state Director General of Police for appropriate pre-emptive action, an official said. «A few senior officials of the CEO office, West Bengal may have leaked the list of the suspected criminals, provided by the Raj Bhavan, to top political leaders of the state,» the source told PTI and suggested that, in doing so, may have thwarted the governor's attempts to reign in criminal activities during the polls.

Taipei's defence ministry said it had detected 21 Chinese military aircraft around the self-ruled island since 8:15 am (0015 GMT) on Saturday, a month before Taiwan's May 20 inauguration of incoming president Lai Ching-te. «17 aircraft (of the 21) crossed the median line and its extension, entered our northern, central, and southwestern (air defence identification zone), and joined PLA vessels for joint combat patrol,» it said in a statement posted on X around 11:30 am. Taiwan's armed forces «are monitoring the activities with our joint surveillance systems, and have dispatched appropriate assets to respond accordingly.»

Concerns that volatile food prices could hurt the battle against inflation dominated the latest meeting of the central bank's rate-setting committee, minutes released on Friday showed, compelling the panel to hold the policy rate. While headline inflation measured by the consumer price index (CPI) cooled a bit from 5.1% in January to 5.09% in February, food inflation rose from 7.58% in January to 7.76%. Food inflation rose primarily driven by vegetables, eggs, meat and fish, the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary policy committee (MPC) said.
