Shapoorji Pallonji Group is likely to raise around $3.3 billion through sale of bonds in the first quarter of the next financial year, two merchant bankers said on Wednesday. The group could raise anywhere between 270 billion rupees to 290 billion rupees ($3.1 billion to $3.35 billion) through a group entity, and the bonds are expected to be subscribed by private credit funds, the bankers said.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting raids at 10 locations in Jammu as part of an ongoing investigation into cases related to infiltration. Meanwhile, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a reply opposing Baramulla MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh's plea before the Delhi High Court. NIA has prayed to the High Court to reject the plea as it is not maintainable. MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh, better known as Engineer Rashid, has sought interim bail or interim custody parole to attend the ongoing Parliament sessions. The plea is listed for hearing tomorrow beside the High Court. NIA had filed an affidavit pursuant to the order passed by the Division bench headed by Justice Prathiba M Singh on March 12. It is stated that the present appeal under Section 21 of the NIA Act, 2008 of Appellant accused Abdul Rashid Sheikh, seeking interim bail or alternate custody parole to attend the Fourth Parliamentary Winter Session of Lok Sabha from March 11 — April 4, be rejected as not maintainable and also liable to be dismissed, on merits. The NIA has also stated that the appellant's mere status as a Parliamentarian does not entitle him to claim any exception from the effect of being in judicial custody.

The sale comes at a time when the real estate developer is facing multiple legal challenges relating to its business. IndusInd Bank promoters have reiterated their commitment to the bank saying that the depressed stock value makes it an attractive level to double down their investment in the private sector lender. Though the bank, which has lost half of its value in the last six months, has not yet asked for any fresh fund infusion from parent IndusInd India Holdings Ltd (IIHL), the promoters see this as an opportune time to invest, said Ashok Hinduja, chairman of IIHL. “Their capital adequacy is already more than 15% and they don't need any further capital, because (it is) excess money. Unless there is a plan, is not necessary to provide,” Hinduja said even as IIHL on Tuesday announced the completion of takeover of debt-ridden Reliance Capital more than year year after the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had approved it.

JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd on Tuesday said it has received a demand of Rs 45.6 crore from income tax authority for the assessment year 2022-23. The company has received an assessment order on March 18, 2025, JK Lakshmi Cement said in a regulatory filing. «In the said order, the income tax officer has made certain additions to the income of the company as declared in the return of income, resulting in an aggregate demand of Rs 4,559.60 lakh,» it said. The company will file the necessary appeal against the said order before the appropriate authorities, it added.

Siemens will cut 5,600 jobs from its flagship digital industries business, the German engineering company announced on Tuesday, saying it was adjusting its production capacity in line with weak demand. Siemens said «muted demand primarily in the key markets of China and Germany coupled with increased competitive pressures have considerably reduced orders and revenue in the industrial automation business» over the last two years. Global demand for automation technology is intact over the long term, Siemens said, but the company had to adjust its production capacity in line with market conditions. The job cuts were first flagged by Siemens last November, while in its latest quarter Siemens reported big drops in sales and profits at the division, as Germany, China and Italy all struggled. Digital Industries employs about 68,000 people worldwide, with 2,600 of the axed jobs coming in Germany.
