Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has issued a warning to Hardeep Malik, the son of Ripudaman Singh Malik, who was acquitted in connection with the Air India bombing of 1985. Hardeep Malik, a Surrey-based businessman, received an official letter cautioning him about potential threats to his life. This comes in the wake of Ripudaman Singh Malik's murder in 2022, for which two individuals have been charged, CBC News reported. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, the CBC News report claims that RCMP investigators are exploring the possibility of the Indian government's alleged involvement in Ripudaman Singh Malik's assassination, similar to their alleged role in the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar the previous year.

Bengaluru: Noida-based IT firm Coforge launched a share placement for qualified institutional buyers late Tuesday night. The company plans to raise up to ₹2,240 crore through the QIP (qualified institutional placements) to fund its acquisition of Cigniti Technologies. The company in a filing with BSE said that the floor price for the issue is at ₹4,531.40 per equity share. In a recent interaction with ET, Sudhir Singh, the CEO, said that the company will shell out $220 — $250 million, (or about ₹1,826 crore — ₹2,081 crore) to acquire Hyderabad-based Cigniti Technologies even as the Noida-based IT firm launched an open offer to acquire an additional 26% stake in Cigniti. He had said that they would use QIP to acquire between 51% — 54% of the of Cigniti.

Indian equities worth ₹27,258 crore across 14 sectors between May 1 and 15, as per NSDL data. Financial services and information technology sectors witnessed the highest selloff in the same period. Foreign investors offloaded shares worth ₹9,687 crore and ₹5,574 crore in the financial services and IT sectors, respectively. In April, the two sectors witnessed selling of over ₹9,000 crore each. Venice implemented a €5 ticketing system for day visitors last month.
