USCIS announces grace period for new immigration forms, including Green Card applications
USCIS) has announced a one-month grace period for older versions of immigration forms, including green card applications. This decision comes after a lawsuit challenged the agency's sudden rollout of new forms without prior notice. According to Bloomberg Law, USCIS will now accept previous editions of updated forms for 30 days from the date new versions were issued. The agency confirmed this update in a notice published on its website. Forms impacted by this decision include Form I-485 for green cards, Form N-400 for naturalization, and others. Earlier, the USCIS introduced updated forms with an edition date of January 20, 2025. However, when these forms were released in late February and early March, the agency did not provide a grace period. This led to confusion among applicants and attorneys, as older versions were submitted even after the updates took effect.

Sell-off in US stocks is not a signal that US economic risks have escalated: UBS
In the American markets on Monday, the Nasdaq index tanked 4 per cent, while the S&P 500 also closed more than 2.7 per cent lower, causing stock markets around the globe to trade in the red. The market participants saw S&P 500 losing over USD 4 trillion market valuation. «The sell-off has been exacerbated by the unwinding of extended positioning in certain market segments such as momentum and tech stocks and is not necessarily a signal that US economic risks have escalated significantly.» says the report. The tech-dominated Nasdaq composite index witnessed a 4 per cent fall, showing investors' sentiment. In the major losers, the AI fab company Nvidia lost about 5 per cent or USD 140 billion in a single day, while the stocks of Tesla declined about 15 per cent, and Apple plunged 4.85 per cent. Knives out in Gujarat Congress after Rahul Gandhi's attack on party men
Rahul Gandhi launching an unprecedented attack on his own party men in Gujarat on Saturday, many party workers expect a major structural overhaul in the party that has for long been dealing with fratricidal feuds. According to a large section of party members, Congress's plight in Gujarat has been a result of series of blunders which looked 'deliberate'. «Rahul Gandhi in fact said things on Saturday that the people of Gujarat had known for decades,» said a senior party member. As a matter of fact, former legislator Manhar Patel had sent a letter to the Congress high command just before Gandhi's visit pointing out that as many as 75 senior Congress leaders have left the party over the past two decades, with many of them holding the state leadership responsible. Patel had sought a «high-level inquiry» into the exodus and penal action on the leaders responsible for the development. While several Congress workers admit that upcoming workers and leaders of the party are often courted by the ruling disposition, Congress's experiment with the young turks like Alpesh Thakore and Hardik Patel has remained a question mark for many.

Was told not to talk against RSS, says Digvijaya; hails Rahul's stand on Cong's BJP sympathisers
Digvijaya Singh on Sunday said he was asked not to speak against the RSS while campaigning in Gujarat for fear of «angering Hindus» and hailed Rahul Gandhi's tough talk in that state a day earlier on those in the party helping the ruling BJP. Addressing Congress workers in Ahmedabad on Saturday, Gandhi had said the party's first job was to separate two groups of Congress workers and leaders — ones who carry the party ideology in their hearts and stand with the public and the others who were cut off from the public, «half of whom are with the BJP». He had underlined the need to filter out such leaders and workers and had warned of strict action, even removals. In a post on social media platform X on Sunday, Singh congratulated Gandhi for his statement and said, «I remember when I went to Gujarat to campaign as the Chief Minister of MP, I was instructed not to speak against the RSS. Hindus will get angry.»
