Norway-based Yara has roped in ACME Cleantech for supply of 1 lakh tonne of green ammonia annually from the homegrown entity's plant in Oman. The binding agreement has been signed through GHC SAOC, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Acme Cleantech, ACME Group said in a statement on Friday. «Yara, a leading Norwegian company and GHC SAOC today (Friday) signed a firm and binding agreement for supply of ammonia with reduced Co2 emissions on a long-term basis,» it said. The long-term offtake agreement covers the supply of 1,00,000 tonne of renewable ammonia per annum by Acme from phase-1 of its Oman project with an expected start date in 2027, the company said.

WhatsApp Coal-producing states earn revenue worth Rs 1.52 lakh cr in last 9 yrs: Centre
Coal-producing states earned a revenue of Rs 1.52 lakh crore in the last nine years from royalty, District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET). State-wise and year-wise data indicate that the coal mining sector is a very significant contributor to the revenue of states including Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, the Coal Ministry said in a statement. «During 2014-2023, total revenue from royalty, DMF & NMET of all coal-producing states through coal mining sector is Rs 1,52,696 crore,» the ministry said. The compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of the revenue from coal mining during 2014-2023 was 13.80 per cent, it said. Coal mining sector has proved to be a big booster for economic growth of the states that produce fossil fuel.

UP Board also issued a notice yesterday denying the paper leak allegations. «The Intermediate Biology and Mathematics paper was sent at 03:10 pm on a WhatsApp group named All Principles Agra by a person named Vinay Choudhary. By then the examination had been conducted in 01 hour and 10 minutes and all the candidates were giving the examination peacefully in their rooms at their respective examination centres, due to which the sanctity of the council examinations has not been affected at any level,» the official statement reads.

UPS WhatsApp country NMDC iron ore output grows 13 pc in April-Feb; sales surge 21 pc
NMDC on Friday posted around 13 per cent jump in iron ore production to 40.24 million tonne during the April-February period of the 2023-24 fiscal. Its cumulative production was 35.62 MT in the year-ago period, the steel PSU said in an exchange filing. However, the company's production in February fell 12 per cent to 3.92 MT as against 4.48 MT in the same month last year. The cumulative sales in April-February this fiscal was 40.48 MT, up 21 per cent from 33.42 MT in the last financial year.

Delhi government is providing skills training to more than 1,300 beggars who were identified in a survey conducted before the G20 Summit in the national capital last year, according to the city's Economic Survey. Finance minister Atishi presented the Economic Survey of the city in the Delhi Assembly on Friday. The Department of Social Welfare has been designated with the responsibility of providing skills training to the relocated homeless beggars at the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB)-operated night shelters with a focus on integrating them into mainstream society, the report said. An inter-departmental committee had been established before the G20 summit and was tasked with the responsibility of formulating strategies for the rehabilitation and relocation of beggars, according to the survey.

consumption of traditional urea in India has declined from 357 lakh tonnes in financial year 2023 to estimated 327 lakh tonnes in FY 24 due to the introduction of nano urea, said fertilizer minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday. The country has reduced the consumption of traditional urea by 25 lakh tonnes, the minister said, without revealing the savings in subsidy on this account. With this the government intends to reduce the import of traditional urea becoming self reliant, he said, adding that the balance use of fertilizers will help on improving the quality of soil.
