Gold rate today: Ahead of US Fed's FOMC meeting scheduled next week, gold prices remained in a broader range of $1,880 to $1,930 per ounce. However, the precious metal prices exhibited relative stability over the past week, with prices closing nearly unchanged at $1,923 levels in international market whereas it ended at ₹58,999 per 10 gm levels on MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange).

The rates were down as the dollar movement has an inverse relation with the price movement in gold. Amit Khare, Associate Vice President at Ganganagar Commodity Limited (GCL) Broking sees bullions making bottom on the daily charts and trading near the demand zone with momentum Indicator RSI indicating the same. His advice to traders is to make fresh buy positions in gold and silver futures near the given support level at Rs 58,500-58,300 while keeping the stop loss near the support levels and booking profit near the resistance of Rs 58,800-59,000. Analyst Neha Qureshi, Senior Technical & Derivative Analyst, Anand Rathi Commodities & Currencies said that the daily chart of October gold futures suggests that the yellow metal was trading below the 50 and 100-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMA) while retaining the crucial Rs 58,300 level. «If it does break below this level, we can expect further downward movement.

Rain updates: The Indian Meteorological Department has issue a yellow alert for heavy rains in several Maharashtra districts today i.e. on 15 September. As per IMD, yellow alert has been issued in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Satara, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbani, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur among other districts.

According to data compiled by DSP Mutual Fund, the yellow metal’s returns in most emerging market currencies have been 0.4% to 7.9% higher on a compounded basis than their stocks. The October Gold futures had ended with declines of Rs 31 or 0.05% per 10 gram at Rs 58595 on Wednesday while the December Silver futures closed lower at Rs 71,410, down by Rs 524 per kg or 0.73%.
