Many of the medal winners are backed by top corporate houses such as Reliance Industries, Tata group, JSW Group and Adani Group that support budding talent in preparing for the global stage with sponsorships, scholarships, training and other initiatives.
India finished fourth in the medal standings for the Hangzhou event.
Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani said athletes supported by the foundation won 12 medals at the Games. Group sports arm JSW Sports said athletes it supported brought home 17 medals, including four golds, eight silvers and five bronze medals.
“At Reliance Foundation, we remain committed to supporting our young athletes and fostering and nurturing talent in sports,” Ambani said. The foundation, which is the principal partner of Indian Olympic Association and Athletics Federation of India, supports over 200 athletes across 10 disciplines through scholarships and training.

JSW Sports supports 4,000 athletes across the disciplines of track and field, judo, wrestling, boxing and swimming through its Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS).
