ITR, according to a LocalCircles survey, 14% of individual income taxpayers admitted that they will not be able to meet the July 31, 2023 deadline. The survey found that 27% eligible taxpayers are yet to file their ITR. For this survey, LocalCircles, a Delhi based market research company, surveyed 12,000 Indians from 315 districts. 41% of these people were from tier-1 cities, 32% from tier-2 and 27% from tier-3,4 cities and rural districts, stated a press release from LocalCircles.

They said that they tried to file ITR and faced difficulty, so they left the process mid-way. These people will again try to file before July 31, 2023. Few weeks back, there were some concerns about some people’s advance tax, self-assessment tax details missing from their annual information statement (AIS). Some people have started taking to social media to voice their grievances.
