The latest Washington Post/Ipsos survey revealed that 83% of people disapprove of Trump’s move to offer clemency to those convicted of violent crimes during the riot, reported The Hill. Even when it comes to rioters convicted of nonviolent offenses, around 55% of Americans aren’t on board.
According to The Hill, the latest poll data shows a noticeable shift in sentiment, as previous polls had less intense disapproval. A Reuters/Ipsos poll just last month found that 58% of Americans disapproved of Trump’s actions, so these new numbers suggest that public dissatisfaction is growing.
The survey also highlighted a broader sense of frustration with the president’s leadership. More than half of Americans, that is 53% disapprove of how Trump handles the economy, reported The Hill. While, 54% aren’t happy with how he’s been managing the federal government. However, 44% still approve of his approach.
