countries, the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are expected to be a spectacular occasion. The Games will take place in Paris and sixteen other towns in the metropolitan region of France from now until August 11; there will also be an event in Tahiti. In commemorating the 100th anniversary of the inaugural Paris Olympics in 1924, France will host the Olympics for the sixth time this year, as per the reports of Yahoo Sports.

Total athletes and country delegations
The 2024 Olympics are expected to feature 10,714 competitors from 206 countries. Leading the delegations with the most athletes, the United States will field 593 athletes. A delegation of 573 athletes from the host country, France, follows. With 460 competitors, Australia comes in third position. Germany and Japan come in fourth and fifth, with 427 and 404 athletes, respectively. With 403 participants, Italy is not far behind.
U.S. Olympic team details
Athletes from the United States will compete in 31 of the 32 Olympic sports. Team handball is the only sport where the United States is not represented. There are 592 competitors on the U.S. squad this year, which is a small decrease from the 615 who participated in the Tokyo 2021 Games. With 120 competitors, track and field will have the largest representation of American athletes.
