Blue Dragon Film Awards, recently took place at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, on November 24. Hosted by actress Kim Hye Soo and actor Yoo Yeon Seok, this 44th edition brought together A-list celebrities to acknowledge the contributions of films and actors who impressed the audience with their talent.
While the focus at award ceremonies typically revolves around nominated films, cast members, and directors, this year’s event was dedicated to the veteran actor Kim.
Kim has gracefully hosted this prestigious event for three decades, starting in 1993. During the ceremony, she announced her decision to pass on her hosting duties to a deserving successor after this year’s edition.
Following the awards ceremony, actor Jung Woo-sung made a surprise appearance, exciting everyone as he presented Kim with a special tribute, the honorary Blue Dragon Award, recognizing her contributions to the event.
The winners of the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards include the movie «Smugglers,» which clinched the title of Best Picture. Um Tae Hwa received the Best Director award for «Concrete Utopia.» Lee Byung Hun’s outstanding performance in «Concrete Utopia» earned him the Best Actor award, while Jung Yu Mi’s gripping portrayal in «Sleep» secured her the Best Actress title.
