Modus Operandi:
Detectives who arrested long haul driver Bruce D Mendenhall revealed that his truck had an elaborate arrangement which was used to subject his victims to intense torture before they were murdered. The back of his truck had various tools such as latex gloves, a rifle, sharp weapons and other items. The investigators described this as a ‘killing chamber’. Mendenhall has been accused in the murder of more than five women.

He often subjected his victims to sexual harassment and torture before killing them. Blood strains of the victims and their DNA were found in his truck leading to his arrest.
Former Assistant Director of FBI Frank Figliuzzi in his book titled ‘Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers’ described that about 400-500 truck drives could be involved in the killing of individuals over a span of 35 years.
