7-year-old Indian sets Guinness World Record: Meet Samyuktha Narayanan, the youngest Taekwondo instructor ever
A Record-Breaking Achievement
Last year, in August, Samyuktha Narayanan was officially recognized as the youngest Taekwondo instructor at just seven years and 270 days old. Guinness World Records shared the news on Instagram, stating, «Seven-year-old girl makes history as the youngest Taekwondo instructor ever aged just seven years and 270 days old! Samyuktha Narayanan is an inspiration to fellow kids in Madurai, India, encouraging them to engage in sports!»
The young martial artist comes from a family deeply rooted in Taekwondo. Her parents, Shruthy and Narayanan, run the Madurai Taekwondo Academy and hold multiple Guinness World Records themselves. Shruthy was the first female to achieve the record for the most full-contact elbow strikes in one minute using alternate elbows, while Narayanan has titles such as the most flaming concrete blocks broken in 30 seconds (29) and the most marble slabs broken with a single kick (seven).
How Samyuktha Was Inspired?
Samyuktha started practicing Taekwondo at the age of three, training under her father. Speaking to GWR, she expressed her admiration for her parents' achievements. «My father and mother are my biggest inspirations. I used to admire [their] Guinness World Records certificates hanging on the walls in our home. It was my goal to achieve a GWR title and hang my certificate on the same wall.»
