74th Berlin International Film Festival revealed its complete lineup at the official press conference in the House of the World Cultures in Berlin. A Cop Movie is making a return to Berlin competition with La Cocina, his feature debut in English. Raul Briones, the alum of The Cop Movie, and Rooney Mara feature in the drama which is set for one day in a busy New York City restaurant.
Briones is playing the role of a cook who is undocumented and is in a relationship with Julia Mara, an American waitress not being able to stay committed to their relationship. The North American rights are being sold to La Cocina by the fifth season with Hanway managing the global sales.
Andreas Dresen, the German director, another Berlinale staunch has rejoined the competition with the recent From Hilde With Love. Liv Lisa Fries, the Babylon Berlin star features in the period drama surrounding a couple falling in love in a delighted German summer before their lives are pulled apart by the Gestapo. The movie is being sold by Beta Film globally.
