Parliament security breach has revealed that the accused people have been planning to storm the Lok Sabha since 2015, a year after they created a social media page, Bhagat Singh Fan Club, claimed officials in the know of the investigation.
The main accused, Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma who jumped into the Lok Sabha well, were the initial members of the group. Lalit Jha, Neelam Devi and Amol Shinde joined it later.
Three others, who were also part of the online forum, are being questioned and one of them is said to be involved in arranging logistics for the meetings where they made the planning, the sources said.
According to police, Jha disclosed that all the accused had met many times and executed the conspiracy.
«Jha has disclosed that the accused persons including him wanted to create anarchy in the country so that they can compel the government to meet their demands,» said an official in the know.
Police have sought polygraph tests on the accused to ascertain their «actual motive» and an additional sessions judge in Delhi is likely to decide on the demand on Tuesday, said officials.
Sharma and Manoranjan were taken by the Delhi Police's special cell to places where they assembled and bought national flags. The two men bought the Tricolour from Delhi's Sadar Bazaar and then assembled near the India Gate where the other members of the group were waiting, the officials said.
The accused are booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Indian Penal Code, including for criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
They got two pairs of shoes made in Lucknow, after discovering that those could be used for taking smoke canisters inside parliament as shoes were not checked by the security.
