Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar projected their strengths on Wednesday with meetings at different locations in Mumbai. The party sources claimed that Ajit Pawar is well ahead in the number game and has the support of around 35 NCP MLAs out of the total 53 MLAs of the party.
The factions knocked on the doors of the Election Commission of India with Ajit Pawar faction claiming him as the new chief of the party and Sharad Pawar faction urging the poll body to hear them before passing any directive related to the NCP. (With ANI inputs)
