Nationalist Congress Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Saturday said that who the Nationalist Congress party and the symbol belong to would be clear when the 'A B Form' is given during the upcoming local body polls. Pawar's somewhat loaded statement comes a day after he met Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar and Cousin Supriya Sule.
Ajit met the two while he had gone to inquire about Pratibha Pawar, Sharad Pawar's wife who had just undergone surgery and had returned back to their home in Silver Oak in Mumbai. «I had actually wanted to go early to visit her, but could not do so.
I had called up Supriya yesterday and she had told me that she was discharged and was back home, so I visited her at Silver oak. Politics is politics but it is our culture to give importance to family which is what has been taught to us also.
I listened to my inner voice while deciding to meet her» said Pawar while speaking to reporters in Nashik. Ajit said that he was at Pawar's Mumbai residence for half an hour and also met and spoke to Sharad Pawar as well as Sule, he however said that they didn't discuss any politics.
In response to a question on NCP President Sharad Pawar, he said that he respected the latter a lot and he was his 'inspiration'. When asked as to who the NCP name and symbol belongs to, Ajit said that it would be clear while the A-B forms are given during the local body polls.
