Custis, who left the firm on 30 September, had worked at Lazard for almost 20 years, after spending five years at JP Morgan Asset Management.
A spokesperson for Lazard Asset Management said the teams had been merged for «business reasons» and Custis had left following «a smooth transition».

The combined UK and euro equities team will now be managed by Aaron Barnfather, the spokesperson said. Barnfather joined the firm in 2008 as a senior portfolio manager of the Lazard European Equity fund.
Alan Clifford, who was co-manager with Custis of the the Lazard Multicap UK Income fund and Lazard UK Omega fund, will now report to Barnfather.
