Alan Wake 2, the sequel to the popular game series, will offer downloadable content (DLC) and expansion packs for players.
The game follows its main character, Alan Wake, after his 13-year stay in the Dark Place. Additionally, Saga Anderson, a new FBI agent, plays a role in the game, trying to solve a series of strange murders.
Remedy, the game's developer, has disclosed its post-launch support plans for Alan Wake 2. Players can expect free updates, including a Photo Mode and a New Game Plus mode called "The Final Draft." However, the release date for these updates has not been specified.
Moreover, two paid expansions are in development for the game. The first expansion is titled «Night Springs,» and the second is called «The Lake House.» Both expansions are set to be released in 2024, although the exact date remains unknown. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game for $79.99 will receive the Expansion Pass, granting them access to both «Night Springs» and «The Lake House.»
Expansion 1 — Night Springs:
The expansion explores visions and dreams becoming reality and then falling back to mere words on a page. Players will take on the roles of familiar characters from the Alan Wake universe. Multiple self-contained episodes of «Night Springs,» a fictional TV show within the game's world, will be featured.
Expansion 2 — The Lake House:
The Lake House is a mysterious facility by Cauldron Lake, initially set up by a secret government organization for research. The expansion lets players explore the Lake House and experience two separate adventures involving Saga Anderson and Alan Wake.
