NASA is closely monitoring astronaut Butch Wilmore who is currently stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) alongside Sunita Williams, reported New York Post. Initially scheduled for an eight-day mission both of their stay has extended to over 160 days due to technical malfunctions with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
New York Post reported that Butch Wilmore has experienced some weight loss although it is far less pronounced than that of Sunita Williams who has eventually garnered significant public concern for her gaunt appearance. NASA officials have reassured the public that both their astronauts are in good health and are being regularly evaluated by flight surgeons.

Sunita Williams has eventually dismissed rumors about her health while attributing her altered appearance to fluid shifts caused by microgravity rather than significant weight loss, asserted New York Post. She also stated that she maintains her weight through a rigorous exercise regimen and proper nutrition.
Both the astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are expected to return to Earth aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule in the month of February 2025, noted New York Post. Meanwhile, NASA has eventually warned its employees against leaking sensitive information regarding the health of both the astronauts while emphasizing on the importance of maintaining privacy under the HIPAA regulations.
