Here are ten things you need to know about Amazon's AI model 'Nova':
-Amazon is reportedly developing its own AI model with advanced reasoning capabilities as part of of the Nova series of generative AI models that was introduced by Amazon in December 2024, according to Business Insider.
-Reasoning AI models are gaining traction as they enable complex problem-solving. Amazon's model is expected to take a «hybrid reasoning» approach, where the AI model is capable of providing quick answers as well as more complex outputs after extended ‘thinking’.
-Amazon-backed Anthropic recently announced it has developed the world’s first hybrid reasoning model called Claude 3.7 Sonnet. Interestingly, Amazon’s latest model could bring it into closer competition with Anthropic.
-The new offerings pit it against rivals like Adobe and Meta, which are racing to serve customers who want to automate more of their services. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced the new «Nova» models at a conference in Las Vegas in December 2024.
