Season 1 of America’s Sweethearts launched on June 20. Directed by Emmy-winning director Greg Whitley, the series quickly became popular, with 2.3 million views in its first four days. The series reached Netflix’s top 10 list in the U.S. and 27 other countries and remained in the U.S. top 10 for five weeks. A choreography number from the show, Thunderstruck, even went viral on TikTok, with over 10,000 videos created featuring the song.
Season 1 followed the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad for 2023-24, directed by Kelli Finglass and choreographed by Judy Trammell. The show featured veteran cheerleaders like Kelcey Wetterberg and Victoria Kalina, along with new members such as Reece Weaver, who appears prominently in the show's announcement teaser. Season 2 will now follow the 2024-2025 team.
