SAO PAULO (Reuters) — Brazilian planemaker Embraer said on Thursday that American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) has placed a firm order for four E175 jets that will be used by Envoy Air, its subsidiary focused on regional flights.
Embraer said in a statement that the order, whose price is seen at $230.6 million, will be added to its fourth quarter backlog, while deliveries are expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Envoy Air's fleet of E-Jets will grow to over 150 aircraft by the end of next year after the latest order, the Brazilian firm noted, which follows an order of seven other E175 planes announced in June.
