Apex Legends is set to embrace the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth crossover with a new event mode, replacing the regular Battle Royale format. Players can anticipate the arrival of Cloud's iconic Buster Sword, available both as a weapon with light and heavy attacks, a blocking feature, and a dash move. The sword also boasts a meter to unleash a powerful «Limit Break,» resembling the famed Omni-Slash from the teaser trailer.
Aside from the mode-exclusive Buster Sword R2R5, an additional version known as Buster Sword R5 will be introduced as a general heirloom for all Legends. Obtainable through random drops in event packs, this version serves as a cosmetic item without gameplay abilities. Notably, it won't be available in the Mythic shop post-event, making its exclusivity during the event paramount.
