The Verge has reported that Apple analyst Mark Gurman, in his recent Power On newsletter edition, revealed that the next AirPods could introduce a Type-C port for charging, as Apple moves away from its proprietary Lightning port. The anticipated release of the next AirPods is expected in 2024, while the AirPods Pro 3 might debut in 2025, following Apple's typical three-year upgrade cycle. Apple is also exploring the integration of sensors in AirPods to measure body temperature accurately through the wearer's ear canal. This approach is considered more precise than wrist-based temperature monitoring done by devices such as the Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra models during sleep.
