Apple is gearing up for the release of its highly anticipated new iPad Pro and iPad Air models, with a targeted launch in early May. The original launch window, speculated to be in late March or early April, was postponed due to software enhancements and the intricate manufacturing processes involved in incorporating new OLED displays into the iPad Pro lineup.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple's suppliers have accelerated the production of these cutting-edge devices, signalling an imminent launch. Gurman notes that while the company is still finalizing software updates for the iPads, significant upgrades are on the horizon.
The new iPad Pro models are poised to receive substantial enhancements, boasting powerful M3 chips, OLED displays, a sleeker design, a revamped rear camera layout, and potentially MagSafe wireless charging. However, the transition to OLED screens has presented challenges, leading to the delay in the launch.
Display Supply Chain Consultants' analyst Ross Young disclosed that Samsung will exclusively supply OLED displays for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while both Samsung and LG will share orders for the 11.1-inch model.
