Buckingham Palace will open its revered balcony room to the public for the first time.
Enthusiasts of the royal family can now embark on guided tours of the palace's illustrious east wing, offering a rare opportunity to explore the iconic balcony room where generations of royals have made historic appearances, as per a report by New York Times.
For decades, the palace balcony has been the backdrop for countless royal moments, including weddings, jubilees, and coronations. Now, visitors will have the chance to tour the halls of Buckingham Palace and witness firsthand the legacy of British royalty.
As per a report by the New York Times, a limited number of East Wing Highlights Tours will be available for purchase starting April 9. Running from July 15 to August 31, these guided tours will lead visitors through the principal rooms of the wing, offering a captivating journey through centuries of royal history.
As per the NYT report, visitors won't be permitted to step onto the balcony itself but they'll be treated to a host of exclusive highlights within the balcony room. From a newly restored glass chandelier to exquisite 18th-century imperial silk wall hangings gifted to Queen Victoria, the room boasts a wealth of treasures waiting to be discovered.
